The sun shone brightly on Tuesday when Year 6 visited Duxford Imperial War Museum. Dressed as evacuees the enthusiastic children learnt about life during World War Two.
Sirens were sounded, gas mask drills were performed and bombs were disposed of safely. An extremely strict teacher, armed with a cane, gave the children an opportunity to learn about education during war time. Using ink pots and fountain pens was fun, although quite messy and proved why blotting paper was an essential writing tool!
Looking at the aeroplanes, sending morse code messages and having the opportunity to see and touch artefacts from the Blitz meant that there was something of interest for everyone. A great day was had by all.
