Hilldene Remembers

Monday 13 November 2017

A special Remembrance Assembly was held on Friday morning to commemorate Armistice day, particularly remembering those in our own community who have suffered loss. Poppy wreaths, which were made by the pupils, were laid whilst the pupils sang a memorial song .  Maxwell, Nicole and Ria eloquently  shared their own poems and The moving poem, Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen was performed beautifully by pupils in Year 6.

Remembrance Day for our soldiers

Fallen heroes we remember you

You fought for our freedom and rights

We are proud of our heroes

You fought through many days and nights

I will wear a poppy today for Remembrance Day

For those who fought in the hard times so we could be free.

Maxwell (Y6)
